Yes. The system is entirely local — scenes, automations and the dashboard work even with the internet down. The cloud is only needed for remote access, if you want it.
Can it be installed in a finished home (retrofit)?
Yes. Shelly devices mount behind existing switches and in junction boxes — often without breaking walls. For new builds we design everything from scratch, with centralised panels.
